Job description
As a Senior Video Engineer, you’ll join the Technology department that plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering products and services to our clients. With a focus on gathering, processing, analysing and presenting railway condition data, we oversee the entire lifecycle of products and services. From research and development to implementation and maintenance. Our expertise spans railway design and quality parameters, and various measurement techniques such as inertia, laser profiling, axle box acceleration, ultrasonic, eddy current, video and localisation. Video concerns capturing images that are used for remote inspection and defect detection, including image recognition solutions to automatically detect cracks, fractures, missing components, etc. Working alongside a team of 15 colleagues, your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching, specifying and developing products and services from both technical and data perspectives
  • Combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience to evaluate solutions for product development and improvement
  • Building consensus for technical developments and integrating them seamlessly into operations
  • Proposing and coordinating internal projects, initiatives and process improvements
    Supporting preventive and corrective maintenance of existing measurement systems
  • Building and sharing knowledge about railway design, quality parameters and industry standards
  • Monitoring and researching new technologies, developments and products
  • Collaborating with colleagues, suppliers and customers from a system ownership role
  • Providing (technical) guidance to less experienced colleagues and stimulating their professional growth

Qualifications
– Technical background with an academic degree or equivalent working experience, preferably in a discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics
– 7+ years of relevant working experience, e.g. in technical product development or data engineering/data science
– Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; fluency in Dutch is a bonus
– Energetic and able to communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and clients
– Naturally curious and analytical, with a desire to understand complexity thoroughly
– Creative and resourceful, capable of exploring various approaches to achieve goals
– Organised and capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
